What is an Online Wedding Invitation?

An online wedding invitation from mydigitalwedding is more than just an invitation.  It is an online slide show telling your story and announcing your big event.  Each Wedding Invitation contains slides of pictures and text accompanied by the music of your choice.  It’s a great way to use your engagement photos. Imagine receiving an invitation full of pictures, the story of how you met and links to the gift registry along with RSVP capability.  It's simple and easy to create plus your guests will be “wowed”.

When should I be sending out my invite?

Traditionally, invitations go out six to eight weeks before the wedding -- that gives guests plenty of time to clear their schedules and make travel arrangements if they don't live in town. If it's a destination wedding, give guests more time and send them out three months or more ahead of time. The save-the-date electronic version can go out up to 6 months in advance.  The great thing with electronic invitations is that you can shorten your time to send out the invite as you don’t have to allow for snail mail.

When should we make the deadline for RSVPs?

Make your RSVP date two to three weeks before your wedding date -- this will allow enough time for you to get your final numbers to the caterer/venue.

How many pictures can I upload?

Right now, it depends on the plan that you choose.  It can range from 2 to 8, with an unlimited option coming soon.  Based on our wide variety of templates, you can upload one photo with your invite or the maximum number of photos.  The choice is yours!

Can I upload my own music?

Yes, you can.  As per our Terms & Conditions, you acknowledge that any music you upload must have permission to use or the digital rights.  We do not take responsibility for music that you have uploaded which does not include the digital rights.  MP3 files work best.

Can I download my Invitation?

Due to copyright laws surrounding music and photographs, you are currently not able to download your invitation. However, your invitation is available at any time by logging into your site.

Will the addresses I use for my invite be used for Marketing?

No.  Your addresses are part of your account information and will be treated in the same manner as the rest of your information according to our privacy policy.  The addresses you load are used only for the invitations that you send out.  We will not share any e-mail addresses. 

How does my guest receive the invite?

Every guest you have inserted into your mailing list will receive an email from you with your own personal message and your own URL that you created when building your invite.  When your guest clicks on your link, it will begin playing your invitation that you created with your photos, text and music.   It will also allow your Guest to RSVP, send comments on your Wedding Wall TM and view your Registry choices.

What wording should I use on my invite?

Given the ever changing dynamics of modern families, invitation wording will be different based on your theme and situation.  We will be launching a wording reference tool with examples that cover all of these different aspects.  This will allow you to select wording that is appropriate for your situation, and make it easier for you to build your invite as well as offering you various choices.

Will you be adding more designs?

MyDigitalWedding is always developing new designs and themes for our Online Wedding Invitations.  Check the design gallery often to see new ones.  We will always be continually upgrading our online process as well.
